🧠 One Sharp Shift
This time last year, I sent the very first issue of The Accidental Blogger.
It was messy.
It was imperfect.
It was the start of something that still feels deeply right.
Fifty issues later, one thing I’ve learned is this:
What we overlook is often what our audience needs the most.
That one line buried in an old caption?
That throwaway phrase you said on a podcast?
That dusty paragraph in your Google Doc?
It’s a content nugget—and it’s probably gold.
Stop asking, “Have I already said this?”
Start asking, “How else can I say this?”
🔍 One Real Example: From Forgotten Line to Front-Row Visibility
During an Amanda Goetz Office Hours session, we talked about how your content should always lead your audience somewhere—and you need to know where that is. That hit me.
Because I realized:
Content feels chaotic when the message isn’t mapped.
That one realization reframed everything.
It wasn’t just a clever phrase—it became a strategic anchor. From that single line, I built:
- A newsletter (like this one)
- A 5-slide carousel explaining the mapping method
- A quote graphic for Pinterest
- A blog post on customer journeys
- A social quote graphic
That one mapped message? I’ve repeated it in multiple ways—and it’s the one thing people now remember me for.
🛠️ One Strategic Tool
🧠 The Nugget Vault Starter Prompt
Use this to build a habit of collecting your best lines before they disappear into the void:
📒 Open a doc or Notion board and start dropping in:
- Sentences you say in DMs or client calls
- Newsletter paragraphs that still make you nod
- Social posts with high engagement
- Lines that get comments like “this hit me hard” or “I needed this”
Your brain has already done the hard part.
Let’s make sure the rest of the world gets to see it.
